The inevitable first post

Par reomp er reomp entrezomp ni kelted, entrezomp entrezomp entrezomp ni kelted…

And so, after reading a little bit of a friend’s blog, I have decided to get one of my very own! Most people tend to have a kind of theme with their blog, or so I gather (having not really read too many blogs, if I’m honest), and so I guess this blog will be about my life, particularly about my life with the Wica.

So a little bit about me is order, I would guess! I am 17 years old (18 in a very short while, an age I cannot wait to attain for vary many reasons!), I live in Brighton in the UK, and I’m doing my A levels at the moment; I recently received my first year grades of AACD (French, English, Photography and Maths respectively). I am between living with my parents and my boyfriend, who lives with his father (his mother lives in London and is often in the States)

That’s the boring bit, I guess! I am Pagan(/Wiccan), working with an Alexandrian coven, which luckily exists in Brighton itself (something *extremely* lucky, I gather – I have heard tales of many having to travel at least an hour just to get to their covenstead!). I am not initiated – I am not old enough, to begin with (hence my contentment with turning 18, the minimum age boundary), but I am drawn to the Wica; an unusual feeling. It is a calling; I know beyond any doubt that this is what I want; my head and my heart (for a nice surprise) agree that so far, this path is completing me. Excuse the vagueness, it is a sensation quite difficult to put into words!

I am most pleased that I performed, with the coven, a dedication to the God and Goddess of my choosing(/calling), which in turn allows me to say that I am a Neophyte (many covens use different words for this – probationer, neophyte, dedicant, etc.) with this coven. It was a fantastic, fantastic evening – an awakening, a new understanding. It was personal, very close, and empowering.

I have been seriously working toward my path since February of this year (roughly 6 months ago) and it has felt so right, so amazing, and so fun for every moment. Alright, the occasional slip because of someone behaving childishly, someone having a poke, or something, but overall, my memories are good ones, ones of smiling faces, happy people, happy songs.

I was interested in the Wica when I was younger – roughly 13 or 14, but knew that at that age, I would not get taken seriously. When I grew up and matured a bit, at 17, I thought I would try my luck. I didn’t expect to get taken all that much more seriously, but when I met the HPS (High Priestess) of this coven, she had been in a not dissimilar situation (the similarities are quite amazing between the both of us – a strong, mystical connection and bond exists there between us, out of time and out of this life, for sure). I am honoured to work under such a kind, caring, sharing, wonderful Lady and High Priestess.

I think that is a good, small summary of my current life. I will be adding bits to the blog, of course, and bit by bit the painting will reveal itself! If nobody even reads this, it is nice to materialise my thoughts into (sometimes malformed) words.

À la prochaine!
